September 2026
Your monthly roundup from Midlife Secret Society 🗝️
September feels like a little reset around here. Summer is winding down, routines are shifting, and we're settling into a new season at the Society.
There's a new book waiting for us, a fresh look coming to the community, and plenty of reasons to come hang out with your fellow Society members.
So grab your coffee and let's see what's happening inside…

September's Book: Magical Midlife Madness
We're kicking off a new month of Between the Chapters with Magical Midlife Madness.
And yes… the title alone feels pretty on-brand for us.
This month, we're diving into a story that brings a little magic, a little midlife mayhem, and plenty to talk about.

Thursday, October 1
Between the Chapters discussion
As always, we read during the month and gather on the first Thursday of the following month to talk about the book together.
Not finished yet? No worries. Come anyway. There's no book-club police here.
LISTEN BETWEEN THE CHAPTERS
Did you know we have aBetween the Chapters Spotify Playlist?
We've gathered the audiobooks from our BTC reading list in one place, so you can find your next listen without having to hunt for it.
And this month's book has an extra little twist…
Magical Midlife Madness is a DRAMATIZED ADAPTATION!
This isn't just someone reading the book aloud.
A dramatized adaptation is an immersive audio production featuring a full cast of voice actors, background music, and sound effects—designed to make the story feel almost like a movie you experience with your ears.
Basically…
A movie without pictures.
If you're an audiobook fan, this is a fun one to experience!
One note about Spotify: Your ability to listen to the full audiobook depends on your Spotify plan. Most listeners will need a paid Spotify account for full audiobook access. Availability and listening limits can vary by account.
So whether you're reading the old-fashioned way, listening while you're driving, or doing a little of both…
We've got your Between the Chapters soundtrack covered.
Find theBetween the Chapters playlist on Spotifyand start listening!
And yes…you may want to clear some space in your schedule. This one is fun.

Last month at Coffee & Conspiracies…
We visited Rosie's Coffee and Wine Garden.
It was beautiful.
Whether you joined us live or missed it, Coffee & Conspiracies is becoming one of our favorite excuses to grab a cup of coffee and hang out.
And remember: you don't have to have a conspiracy theory ready at the door. Sometimes we just need a place to show up, chat, laugh, and see where the conversation goes.

The MSS Speakeasy
A monthly in-person gathering for the Midlife Secret Society.
Come curious. Come ready to connect. And don't forget the password.
The MSS Speakeasy is our monthly opportunity to step out of the everyday and into something a little more unexpected. Each month brings a new theme, a new experience, and a new reason to gather—but the spirit stays the same: good conversation, something fun to do, something new to discover, and a room full of women who are ready to see what's possible now.
Every Speakeasy has its own atmosphere, activities, food or drinks, and a little something to take with you. And yes, there's usually a password.
Think of it as your standing invitation to the Society.
Come for the theme. Stay for the people. Leave with a story.

Fall is full of little things worth doing, big things worth dreaming about, and a few "why not?" ideas that have been waiting for their moment. This month, we're turning the MSS Bucket List into an experience—and sending you home with a few ideas of your own.

A Fresh Look Is Coming
You've probably noticed that things have been looking a little… under construction around here.
Well, we're finally ready to pull back the curtain.
The Midlife Secret Society community is getting a fresh new look!
We're rolling out the updated community this week, so you may notice things shifting around over the next few days.
Same Society. Same sisterhood. Just a fresh coat of paint and a little better organization.
Take a peek around when you see it—and don't be shy about exploring.

In August, we tried something new.
Mahjong.
It was something we'd both talked about trying for a while. We were curious, we thought it looked fun, and—as often happens—we just hadn't made the time for it.
So finally, we looked at each other and said, "Let's do it."
And that's really what we hope Midlife Secret Society becomes a place for.
Doing the things we've been curious about. Trying something we've never done before. Having someone to go with when you

don't want to try something new alone. And just as importantly, having people to share the things you already love with—the things you can't stop talking about and wish everyone else would try, too.
You don't have to become a Mahjong player. You just have to be willing to say, "I've always wanted to try that…" and maybe have someone beside you who says, "Okay. Let's do it."
That's a big part of what we envisioned when we created Midlife Secret Society: a place for women to try, discover, share, laugh, and experience a little more of what's possible now.
So here's to trying the thing.

September's little reminder:
You don't need a big reason to make room for something fun.
You don't need a milestone.
You don't need a vacation.
You don't need to wait until life calms down.
Sometimes it's just coffee with a friend.
A random Tuesday dinner.
A book you can't put down.
Saying yes to something you almost talked yourself out of.
Make a little room for the things that make you feel like you.
And if you've been waiting for an invitation…
Consider this one.
